Lafayette Community Center Re-Roofing - Award of Contract
Introduction
The 2009/2010 City Budget allocates $200,000 for Community Center roof restoration. Bids were
opened for this project on July 16, 2009. Staff is seeking City Council action to award the
construction contract to the lowest bidder in the amount of
$119,500.
Bid Information
The City received twelve (12) bids for this project. There was a base bid that included re-roofing
the main building, and an "add alternate" bid for the Manzanita Building. Since scheduled
improvements to the Manzanita Building include penetrating the roof to install a new air-
conditioning system, the add alternate bid will be disregarded and the Manzanita Building re-
roofing will occur with the other building improvements.
Staff reviewed the lowest bid and determined the bid proposal to be responsive, complete and
accurate.
